🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Voice Anger About Sizing Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing. This online marketplace has revised its size classifications for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a different size category than originally posted due to the recalibration. The company said the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Updates Earlier, the measurements included one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Experiences One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Manual Updates A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
